This beautiful old stone house is situated right in the heart of Vaison la Romaine upper town which is the utterly charming, medieval part of the town. Here you find small paved alleyways with fountains, shady squares, little boutiques, several good restaurants and lovely coffee shops. There are also the remains of the impressive medieval castle dated from the 12^th century. Below and walking distance from the house, after crossing the Roman bridge you are in the lively part of the town with all its amenities plus extremely well preserved Roman sites ; in fact one of the most complete and prestigious in France. Also each Tuesday morning is a huge, colorful Provencal market. The surrounding area has much to offer too since it boasts a fabulous historical and natural heritage. You will explore many picturesque villages such as Seguret, Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise ; the last of which is famous for its dessert wine. Mont Ventoux is very near, and the Toulourenc Gorges are just 20km away from the house;  here the depth of the water is variable from a few centimeters to 2 meters and it is an ideal place for sunbathing and a picnic. A short drive away is Avignon (45km), Orange (30km), St Paul les 3 Chateaux (35km) and Grignan (34km); the Luberon and all its pretty little villages are about 60km.

This gorgeous village house is at the corner of a little paved street. You enter into the living room with large dining table and chairs and sofa at one end and the fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher at the other end; on this floor is also a separate wc. A staircase paved with antique tiles rises to the first floor to a lovely double bedroom with old Provencal tiles and a window with a fantastic view over Vaison la Romaine. Two more steps leads to a shower room/wc and then to a large double bedroom with chestnut floor and window with a pretty view over a picturesque old village lane. On the second floor is a lounge with three sofas, armchairs, a desk plus TV with English channel, DVD player and Hi-Fi unit; this room is delightful and 3 windows give you beautiful panoramic views. A washing machine is located in the cellar.  

Approximately 50m from the house is the private 80m2 flowery garden which has a pergola, teak table and chairs, barbecue and sun loungers. From there views are also exceptional, with the town in front of you and the medieval castle being just above the garden. 

Please note that this property is suitable for rentals all year round.

Children: The owner will not accept bookings with children under 8 years old.
