The house sits in flat and enclosed grounds of 5000m² with lawns, paths and oak trees for shade. The property is only 2km from the well known town of St Remy de Provence with excellent restaurants, delightful cafés, elegant shops and one of the greatest weekly markets in the region that takes place every Wednesday. St Remy has a significant historic and cultural heritage. The archaeological site of Glanum reveals the remains of the Roman town as well as religious and civil monuments. Also strolling in the lively centre of St Remy, you will discover splendid noble houses dating from 17th and 18th Century.
St Remy de Provence is also appreciated for the beauty of its landscapes and the exceptional light that has inspirited many artists. Vincent Van Gogh, did over 150 paintings here. Today, you can follow a route that will guide you to places where he painted some of his masterpieces. Pretty villages such as Les Baux de Provence, Maussane Les Alpilles or Fontvieille are all part of the Alpilles range and about 10km away. The olive oil in Les Alpilles is recognized has being one of the tastiest in the area. Arles and Avignon are some other historic towns that must be visited and are no more than 25km distance. Within easy reach you can also access Aix-en-Provence or the regional park of the Luberon.
An electric gate opens into the grounds. Main entrance is from the rear into a hall with access to the living areas and then a corridor to the bedrooms. The kitchen to the right is fully equipped with dishwasher, breakfast table and French windows to the covered terrace. From the entrance hall, a door leads then to the dining room with table and chairs, a piano and a door to the sitting room with TV, DVD player and fireplace. Both rooms have French windows to the covered terrace equipped with table and chairs for outdoor meals and built-in barbecue. The corridor to the left leads to the bedrooms: two double bedrooms, one of which has French windows to the garden, a shower room/wc, a large bedroom with a double bed plus a single bed with en-suite bathroom, and a separate wc. A washing machine and tumble drier are in the garage.
The owner leaves also 5 adult bicycles at the client’s disposal. In the garden, are some swings and a slide for the youngest; there are also a ping pong table and a basketball net. The heated swimming pool (10m x 5m x 1.60m constant depth) is in front of the covered terrace.
Broadband Internet Access: Broadband Wi-Fi available at this property providing clients with free access via their own laptop.
