Description

Ika is a small fishing village only 2 minutes drive from Lovran and 5 minutes from Opatija. Both Opatija and Lovran offer many possibilities for fun and enjoyment, good restaurants, bars and beaches with summer activities. The romantic Lungomare, a 12km long seaside promenade, connects all the towns and villages on the Optaija Riviera. If you enjoy walking, it will take you about 25 minutes of a pleasant walk to Opatija, or 10-15 minutes to Lovran. If you like hiking, the Ucka Mountain rises right above Ika and the hiking trails commence from the village. From Ika and the nearby towns, it is possible to take daily boat excursions to the islands and to the coast of Istria. About an hour away, in neighboring Slovenia, is Postojna, one of the most beautiful caves in the world, a place worth visiting.

The apartment is on the first level of a two-storey building on the beach. It is next to a small, family run hotel which has an excellent fish restaurant serving lobster, scampi and other fish specialties. On the ground floor of this apartment building is a small bar where you can enjoy an excellent morning coffee overlooking the beach, and a take-away restaurant. There is a supermarket across the road as well as a couple of bars. The local beach is a sheltered pebble bay, safe for children.
The great charm of this area is the 12 km long Lungamare which is a promenade which runs along the coast linking up all the local centre and villages. You can walk just 5 minutes to Icici where you will find a Blue Flag beach and a marina with a very good restaurants: one is Bussola for pizza and pasta, and the other is Commodore serving excellent fish specialties. There are a number of bars and patisseries in Lovran (10-15 minutes walk)as well as ‘Najade’ well known for fish specialties and its beautiful terrace by the sea.  Opatija can also be reached on foot (25 minutes walk), or by bus which stops 20 meters away from the apartment; here you will find an abundance of cafés, shops and restaurants – try ‘Bevanda’ for a real taste of ‘slow food’.

It consists of a spacious living room, kitchen, double bedroom with and extra single bed (for a child) ensuite bathroom/wc and 2 balconies with seaviews. There are 2 sofas in the living room, one is L shaped sofa bed for 2, here is also a TV set, coffee table and 2 armchairs. The living room is attached to the kitchen which has a range of cupboards, ceramic cooker, fridge with a freezer, electric oven, microwave, washing machine and a table for 4. The bedroom faces the sea and has a balcony with views. The apartment has air-conditioning and a safe. Please note that clients who have a car, there is a village parking charge of 12 Euros approx per week.
