Description

Karmen is situated in an elevated position from which stretch beautiful views across the crystal clear sea towards the Island of Korcula. This is a quality property, tastefully decorated, in exceptional surroundings; it is only 250 metres from a long pebble beach, ideal for swimming and sunbathing - and from here you can walk (10 minutes) along the lovely seaside promenade that takes you into the delightful centre of Orebic.

Here you will find charming old stone buildings made in Venetian style originally owned by wealthy sea captains; also a good selection of shops and restaurants awaits you. Today most inhabitants make a living from fishing , fruit, olive and wine growing; so you can be sure of enjoying some good local produce during your stay, as well as good wine. In particular you should sample 'Dingac' and 'Postup' wines from here, which are well known throughout Croatia. You can easily hop over on the frequent ferries to Korcula Island and visit the historic, medieval town of Korcula.

Only 250 metres from Karmen is the small family run 'Hotel Indian' which is run by a friend of the owner of Karmen and sits right on the beach. Here you can enjoy your meals served on its splendid open terrace in the excellent a la carte restaurant; alternatively you can use the Hotel's facilities (payable locally) such as small gym, jacuzzi, sauna and indoor swimming pool with sliding glass roof.

Karmen is surrounded by a spacious natural garden; it consists of the main house in which the friendly, discreet owner lives, and two lovely apartments at ground level with their own separate entrances, which he rents to Croatian Affair. In front of the property there is a 9m x 4m swimming pool with roman steps, outside shower and sunbathing terrace, plus wonderful views out to sea. Behind the property is a garden area with stone made tables and a barbecue shared by the guests.

Apartment B (sleeps 2/4). You enter this air conditioned apartment into the living/dining room; this has a sofa, two armchairs, coffee table, satellite TV, and dining table and chairs. Open-plan to this is the kitchen with cooker, and fridge. Off here is a double bedroom and a bathroom/wc with jacuzzi and washing machine. All rooms face out to sea.
