Description

Baska is located in a gentle valley which has lovely hiking trails, and on a bay surrounded by vineyards and olive groves with a picturesque background of Rocky Mountains and the islet of Prvic; this shelters the unique 1,800 meter long shingle beach which is one of the most lovely in the Adriatic. In fact Baška abounds in beaches; some thirty pebble or shingle beaches are accessible to swimmers of all ages - some reachable by foot, some by boat. However the biggest and one of the most beautiful is Baška's ‘Vela Plaža’, the Great Beach, right in the centre of town, surrounded by bars, restaurants, pizzerias, cafes, patisseries. On the beach you can hire pedal boats, sailboards, parasols, deckchairs and enjoy various summer sports. The evenings in Baska have a lively bustle as its narrow cobbled streets fill up with people eating, drinking and just enjoying the balmy sea air.

We have found something really special for you, a true pearl as its name says. This is a high quality three level apartment with fabulous views right in the centre of the beautiful fishing village of Baska. The main Baska beach is 5 minutes walk, and the harbour is 2 minutes walk from where boat trips are organized and little boats take you to the romantic beaches in the vicinity. The charming cobbled street in which the apartment is located abounds with bars, restaurants, jewellery shops and boutiques. Just across the street to the left of the church yard you will find a green grocer and a little bar for your morning coffee. Further away in the same direction there are a number of restaurants at the end of which is a great pizza and pasta place. There also many restaurants to choose from along the promenade by the main beach, the best of which is probably 'Cicibela'.

Pearl has the most superb location in the whole of Baska town. Adjacent to the house, you have a beach just 4 meters away; excellent restaurants are only 50 meters away. It is in fact the top part of a narrow Mediterranean terraced house renovated and decorated with the brilliant taste and style. Just imagine relaxing in a bath and admiring the sea view through the specially designed window; or sleeping on the double bed and listening to the waves on the beach below. From the private little roof terrace you will get the best possible panoramic view of the bay, the sea and the distant islands. Only the highest quality material and furniture has been used in the decoration of the interior, from onyx stone in the bathroom to the transparent plexiglass staircases.

You enter the property through a door from the central cobbled Baska street. A little hall leads to a double bedroom with a sea view and en-suite bathroom/wc. The stairs left of the entrance lead to the living room with a sitting area with coffee table also overlooking the sea, plus a flat screen satellite TV. There is a kitchenette at one end, and a window overlooking the cobbled street and the main churchyard.

Another flight of transparent plexiglass stairs lead to the top level with a lovely terrace 2m x 2.5m and comfortable seating. By the terrace door is a separate wc. The house has a sandy beach in front, and is air-conditioned. You can easily stay here without any need for a car, and transfers from nearby Rijeka airport cost 30 Euros per person (based on 2 in a taxi).

A car is not a requirement at Pearl, transfers to and from the airport can be arranged, fees apply.
