We are delighted to have found this real gem of a villa on the edge of the charming Mediterranean village of Trstenik on the southern side of the Peljesac peninsula. It is located right by the water in a fantastic position with beautiful sea views across the village and its beach to the picturesque vineyards in the distance. You are just a couple of minutes walk from the village sea front which has a local shop, a post office, plus a few bars and restaurants such as «Konoba Feral» which has outdoor tables overlooking the sea. Here you can enjoy Dalmatian specialties like grilled meat and fish plus local prosciutto, cheese and wines from the area such a Posip and Dingac. A couple of minutes further and you come to a long pebble beach perfect for swimming and sunbathing. If you are a wine lover you will find only 2 km from the centre of Trstenik a Grgich winery where you can sample excellent Croatian wines especially Posip and Plavac.
Only 10 km away you should go to the village of Drace which has a very good traditional Dalmatian tavern called 'Dalmatinska Kuca' which has a wide range of meat and fish dishes. 30km away is Prapratno from where you can catch a ferry for a day trip to the Island of Mljet which has one of the best Croatian national parks. Just 25km away from Trstenik is the town of Orebic which has a lot of bars and restaurants and long promenade by the sea . Also from Orebic there is a hourly connection by ferry to the Island of Korcula where you can visit a charming town of Korcula which has a fascinating medieval centre.
Only 36km away from Trstenik is small sea side town Mali Ston, where you can find good restaurants such are ‘Kapetanova Kuca’ and ‘Bota’ (with sea specialities as oysters and mussels from well-known Ston oyster beds); great scenery, old stone houses and the longest fortifications in Europe.
You enter this villa at ground level into the air conditioned living area; this has a satellite TV, CD player, two armchairs, a sofa bed and coffee table. From here you enter the dining room which has dining table and chairs to seat 6 and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, cooker, and microwave. From both living and dining areas is access to the front outdoor terrace which has dining table and chairs plus the 6m x 3.5m swimming pool with outside shower, sun loungers and parasols; from here are fantastic views of the sea and Trstenik village with its pretty beach. Off the living area are a double bedroom and a twin bedroom plus two shower room/wc's, one of which has a washing machine.
On the top floor with its own outside entrance is a flat which the owner stays occasionally from 05 July -23 August , but he does not use the pool.

The owner is very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. A stay here allows you to slip into the slow pace of village life, swim in the sea from outside the garden gate before breakfast, enjoy the terrace in the morning sun, and access deserted beaches, picturesque countryside and historic towns all within easy reach by car.

Perfect Setting

The villa is in the most perfect setting and has a beautiful view from its terrace. The owner is lovely - friendly, but NOT intrusive at all, and gave us delicious wine and fresh figs. So is Olive, the lady who looks after the villa. The villa is well furnished, and attractive inside. The kitchen is particularly well equipped. The outside living space is perfect - private, attractive, with its fabulous view, and comfortable. We lived outside most of the time. The pool is a good size, and clean. It has an underwater light, so looks beautiful at night.

Very friendly owner of the villa who lived upstairs. We were made to feel most welcome by him (he brought our daughter an amazing birthday cake) and the person who cleaned the villa. On a few nights there was quite a lot of noise from the harbour but we learned to live with it. Charming little pool and super view of habour. Pity that it loses the afternoon sunshine but such is life.
