Description
This luxurious villa is located on the lower slopes of Ucka mountain which rises to a peak of 1400 meters above Kvarner bay and beautiful Opatija. From the top of Ucka the views of the sea and islands on one side and Istria peninsula on the other side are magnificent. Villa Stella is in a residential area called Pobri (with a local bar and shop), less than 3km from Opatija centre which is full of restaurants, bars, patisseries and boutiques. Opatija has a long tradition in tourism: during Austrian times it was a high class resort and a favorite of the European aristocracy, which is evidenced by numerous stylish villas from that period that are scattered along the coast.
Along the seaside of Opatija and neighbouring villages the so called 'Lungomare' runs - a 12km long footpath for lovely walks which links some delightful seaside resorts such as Volosko, Icici which has a Blue Flag beach, and Lovran. On the Lungomare you can find bars and restaurants including some of the most famous in the area, like 'Bevanda' in Opatija centre or 'Plavi Podrum' in Volosko – with excellent fish menus.
On the other side of Pobri lies the lovely town of Kastav, under 10 minutes drive from the villa, where you will find 'Kukuriku' restaurant, the most famous slow food restaurant in the whole of Croatia, where for about £60-70 per person you can enjoy one of the best dinners in your life, made by the awarded creative chef and his team. Besides Kukuriku restaurant in the central town square, (not to be mixed with 'Kukuriku Osteria' at the entrance of the town, with excellent grilled meat!), is a restaurant called 'Loza' which is highly recommended for its moderate prices and fantastic, versatile menu.
One of the best beaches in the area is Medveja, a long pebble beach where you can rent luxurious comfortable loungers or even a beach 4 poster bed and lie down on your own piece of the beach, sipping a refreshing drink from a bar.
Stella is a new semi-detached luxurious villa in a residential area just above Opatija which has a 50 sqm oval swimming pool, a tennis court and a sauna with Jacuzzi.The property retains its privacy since it is secluded from its neighbours on one side by a wall, whilst on the other side at the end of its garden is a wooded forest.
This spacious property has 3 levels. On the first level is a garage off which is the front door which opens to a spacious ante room off which is an air-conditioned living room with satellite TV, dining table and chairs for 4, a sofa that converts to a double sofa bed, a twin bedroom, and a shower room/wc with a washing machine. On the first floor is a spacious open plan air-conditioned living area with corner sofa, satellite TV, DVD and fireplace, a separate wc, plus dining table and chairs for 10. Adjacent to this is the kitchen, fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and cooker. Glass doors open from the living room to a spacious terrace with gazebo, next to which is a lawned garden, ideal for children. On the second floor is an air-conditioned hall off which are a twin bedroom, a double bedroom, a bathroom/wc, and a master double bedroom with flat screen satellite TV, and en-suite shower room/wc; the double and master bedrooms have access to a spacious 45 sqm large terrace overlooking the pool and garden.
Outside is a nice lawned area; at a lower level is an oval 50 sqm swimming pool with roman steps and mosaics, and a tennis court with artificial grass and floodlights for evening games. Next to the tennis court is a sauna room with showers, Finnish sauna and Jacuzzi for 5 people.
